What is the average weight of a cow?  

The average carcass weight of a whole cow is about 700 lbs. You can expect roughly 400-450 lbs of yield from the animal, in the cuts of your choice.

How much will a whole cow cost me?  

Our premium grass-fed beef is priced at $5.25 per pound, on the carcass weight. You can typically expect to pay between $3,800-$4,000 for a whole cow. This includes packaging, processing, and delivery within a 50-mile radius of Bedford, VA. 

How soon will my meat be ready? 

Currently, we require 3 weeks from the date of slaughter to process your meat. This includes two weeks for dry aging and one week for processing/packaging. We strongly encourage you to place your order as early as possible to ensure availability at your desired delivery/pick-up date (orders may be placed up to twelve months in advance). After making a deposit, we will contact you within one business day to schedule a slaughter date as close as possible to your desired delivery/pick-up date.

What is the average weight of a hog? 

Whole hogs weigh about 250 lbs per carcass. You can expect to get roughly 220 lbs of yield, on average: 150 lbs of sausage, 50 lbs of chops, and 20 lbs of bacon. 

How much will a whole hog cost me? 

Our pork shares are priced at $3.25 per pound, on the carcass weight. You can expect to pay about $1,100 for a whole hog, which includes processing, packaging, and delivery within a 50-mile radius of Bedford, VA.
